There's a feeling about it that no other season holds, a peaceful, cleansing feeling. Summer rain colors the landscape with a Monet-esque brush; colors are vivid yet soft. The world takes on a fairy tale mood.
The rain has a musical quality here. It must be all the leaves. It sings like a lullaby, just as Langston Hughes writes.
