Fall Flowers

The weather is due to turn this weekend. It's been pleasant lately but once the storm hits, it will officially be Fall. There will just be no more denial.

The sun doesn't hit our yard anymore. Kevin leaves in near darkness and soon I won't be able to walk down to get the mail due to the darkness (and the creature that is still in the woods.)

This weekend, in between raindrops, we will put away the ice chests, the garden hoses, the sprinkler. We will make sure that Missy Jo's doghouse is good for the cold & rain. I went shopping to stock up on canned food, etc in case we get snow or loss of electricity. We had a good run but we've put it off long enough, it's time. Fall is here. winter is on it's way.

Nearly all the summer flowers have gone. I need to spend some time dumping out pots and storing them away. But first, I thought I would have some Fall & Winter flowers this year:

(they're totally fake)

How do you get ready for the winter months?

we shut down the pool (finished that this weekend). we also gather up all the yard stuff and put it in the shed. we're pretty much ready for fall/winter now except we have some bulbs/flowers to transplant before frost hits. we also have some pruning to do. i love this time of year. and dude--i'm totally calling you out on the fake flowers! put some mums or pansies in those pots for god's sake! lol
